SACO, Maine — Kathie Preston passed away Jan. 7, 2019. She was born and raised in Utica, New York, moved to Florida in 1975; and resided in Jacksonville until 2010.

She attended FJC where she received her Associates degree in Applied Science in Industrial Electronics in 2000, where she then began her career with AT&T Long Lines as a Communications Technician, and moving through the company name changes until retirement in 2010 as an Operations Manager.

Along the way, her ambitions drove her to become an stage actress, joining Toastmasters, volunteering her time as an mediator for the Better Business Bureau of Jacksonville. Upon retirement, she continued to look for opportunities to give back, which led her to working with adults with disabilities securing social guidance and jobs, then continuing as an concierge at an assisted living facility, which she LOVED.

She is leaving behind her life partner, Louise Maillette, her two daughters, DeeAnna Lyn Preston of Jacksonville, Florida and Desiree Jones (J. Herman) of Waynesboro, Virginia; and grandsons Alexander and Malcolm Daniels of Jacksonville.

She is predeceased in death by a daughter, Renee Marie, parents John and Wynette Scott and sisters Helen Cook and Karen Santamore.

Celebration of life will be held in Saco, Maine at 885 Portland Road on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019 at 2 p.m.
