BATH — Austin Damon doubled three times as part of a 4-for-4 afternoon as the Mt. Ararat High School baseball team pulled away for a 13-3 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Morse on Monday.

The Eagles improved to 3-0 and host Oxford Hills on Wednesday at 5 p.m. (Bowdoin College), while the Shipbuilders fell to 1-2.

Leading 4-2 after three, Mt. Ararat scored four runs in the fourth and five more in the fifth to end the game via the mercy rule.

JD Dionne was 3-for-3 for the Eagles with four runs scored and two RBIs, while Trey Booty singled twice and scored a run. Damon scored three times and drove in a game-high four runs. Devin Tobin and Cody Holman chipped in a double each.

Tobin went the distance for the mound win, striking out seven and walking six along with three hits allowed.

Jackson Walker doubled, singled and picked up an RBI for Morse, which visits Medomak Valley on Wednesday at 4 p.m. Asa Hodgdon also doubled, while Tom Warren singled in the loss.

Bowdoin baseball

Saint Joseph’s College played eight shutouts innings to pin a 3-0 setback on Bowdoin on a rainy Monday afternoon.

The Polar Bears are 5-19-1 and the Monks climbed to 28-8.

After allowing a leadoff single in the top of the first, Connor Lee struck out three straight batters to begin the game on the mound for Bowdoin.

Grayson Jennings nearly matched him in the bottom half, fanning two.

The Monks scored a pair in the second off a bases-loaded double by Joey Murphy.

Jennings kept the Polar Bears hitless until the fifth when Colby Joncas sent a two-out single through the left side.

Saint Joseph’s scored one final run in the seventh, extending the lead to 3-0. With runners on first and second, Noah McDaniel doubled to right center and plated Greg Emanuelson.

The Monks combined for 12 hits. Eric Mah, Gavin Cann and Joncas all had a hit for Bowdoin. Cann tagged a triple in the eighth.

The Polar Bears play at Thomas College on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

Boys lacrosse

NEWCASTLE — Sheamus Mann scored seven goals and dished out eight assists as Morse held on for a 16-14 KVAC win over Lincoln Academy.

Gaige Kindlimann had four goals and two assists in the win, while Mason Savary picked up three goals and two helpers. Ethan Pascuzzo had two goals and controlled faceoffs (22-10).

The Shipbuilders host Oxford Hills on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
