ARUNDEL — A suspect has been arrested for an alleged rape on July 4 in Arundel.

York County Sheriff’s Office deputies were summoned to a campground in Arundel at about 10:15 p.m. Thursday for a reported rape. When the deputies arrived at the campground, a women told deputies that she was forcibly raped, according to a Sheriff’s Office press release.

Through their investigation, deputies identified the suspect as Nicholas Webb, 40, of Richmond, New Hampshire. Deputies arrested Webb for Gross Sexual Assault 17-A 253.1.A.

Several hours after his arrest, Webb posted a $5,000 bail and was released.  He is due to appear in Alfred Superior Court  later this summer.
