A beloved family tradition now in its 22nd year, Pumpkin Patch Trolley, will return to the Seashore Trolley Museum for nine days this season: Friday/Saturday/Sunday Sept. 25-27 and Oct. 2-4 and Oct. 9-11. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

Guests of all ages will be treated to antique trolley rides on a heritage railroad to the museum’s very own Pumpkin Patch, where all guests get to select a pumpkin to take home. Back at the Visitors’ Center, families can paint their pumpkins and participate in other Coviid-safe family activities, including craft-in-a-bag, a cookie walk, photo scavenger hunt, and spending time checking out the museum’s mostly outdoor exhibits and displays.

Lunch service this year will be available by Texas Grace Kitchen.

To hold this event this season, Seashore Trolley Museum has changed the traditional format and is taking extra precautions.

“The event will be held over twice as many days this year to spread out our guests,” said Executive Director Katie Orlando in an email. “Trolleys that typically hold 50 to 100 guests will hold no more than 20 to 25 guests. Pumpkins will be socially distanced at the Patch, and no carnival games will be held at the field this year due to COVID expectations. Trolleys are cleaned before and after each ride, and masks are required in our Visitors’ Center, on the trolleys, and when social distancing isn’t possible indoors and outdoors.”

It is unknown how the pandemic will impact Halloween this year, so even though it’s a little early to celebrate, the museum is encouraging guests to come in costume. Prizes will be given out each day for Best Costume and Best Mask.
