Cynthia A. (Webber) Moore

SCARBOROUGH – Cynthia A. (Webber) Moore, 85, of Portland, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. She was the wife of the late Augustus Moore, who died in 1980.

She was born in Bangor on Feb. 25, 1936, a daughter of the late Millard J. and Elizabeth G. (Martin) Webber. She grew up in Bangor, attending local area schools before moving to Portland as a young adult.

She worked briefly at Maine Medical Center starting out as an elevator operator and eventually receiving her certificate as a registered nurse. When Cynthia was young, she was an avid dancer; as she grew older; she enjoyed playing Bingo and doing puzzles and even later in life enjoyed her role as a foster grandmother.

She is survived by three children, Timothy R. Moore of Portland, David J. Moore and his wife Patricia of Portland and Heather Baughman of Westbrook. She also leaves a brother, Richard Webber of Stetson and a sister, Sally Jones of Portland; as well as 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held on Monday, May 10 and she was laid to rest at Forest City Cemetery, South Portland, on Tuesday, May 11.
