Charles Frederick Swett

KENNEBUNK – Charles Frederick Swett, 73, passed away on May 31, 2021. Charles was born on Dec. 8, 1947 to Charles E. Swett and Lois E. Blanchard.

He lived his entire life in Kennebunk, graduating from Kennebunk High School in 1967. He went on to serve in the United States Army. He enjoyed tinkering with small engines, and spent his career working as a mechanic, primarily for Shaw’s grocery stores. He was also a past member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of Kennebunk.

He is survived by: his wife of 52 years, Beverly Swett; his two daughters, Lois Wright and husband David, and Cheryl Noble and husband Kenneth Jr.; his grandson, Kenneth Noble III; his father, Charles E. Swett; his sisters Susan King and husband Dick, Robin Nichols, Brenda Swett, Pamela Torno, and Sarah Hutchins and husband David; many nieces and nephews, including Summer Cavallaro, with whom he had an especially close relationship; his army buddy, Harry Williams; his good friend, Steve Edwards; and long-time neighbors Liz and Al Roper.

An informal graveside service will be held on Monday, June 7 at 10 a.m. at Pine Grove Cemetery, 161 Alfred Rd., West Kennebunk, ME 04094.
