Alice E. O’Malley
PORTLAND – Alice E. O’Malley, 85, of Portland died peacefully on Friday, Nov. 11, 2022 at Seaside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness. Alice was born in Portland on August 4, 1937, the daughter of the late John H. and Isabel (Cowan) O’Malley. She attended local schools and graduated from Cathedral High School in the class of 1956.
In 1962 Alice went to work for the New England Telephone Company as a billing clerk, a position she held for 30 years, retiring in 1992. She was a lifelong communicant of the Catholic Church. Alice was predeceased by two sisters, Margret Barber and Mary Vessey; two brothers, John H. O’Malley Jr. and Robert O’Malley. She is survived by a brother-in-law, Richard Vessey, a sister-in-law, Kathy O’Malley Densmore; many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, 492 Ocean Ave, Portland, on Friday, Nov.r 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Broadway, South Portland. Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland, ME.
