Pamela Viles (Chase)

WESTBROOK – Pamela Viles (Chase), 65, passed away on Jan. 11, 2024, at Mercy Hospital after a courageous battle of cancer.

She was born in Portland on Oct. 9, 1958, a daughter of the late Gerard Chase and Rosemarie (Winch) Chase.

She graduated from Portland High School, class of 1975, at the age of 16 and was very proud of her accomplishment. She was in the Firettes Color Guard which was in the ’70s and met some of her lifelong friends. She had a lifelong love of her cats.

She also enjoyed working in her flower beds, roses and various plants around her home. She spent many hours of her days planting and caring for her plants. She had a prize Rose bush she named after her mother. She also loved working with crafts and giving them to her friends. Pamela was married to Robert Viles.

She was predeceased by her mother, Rosemarie (Winch) Chase who passed away in 1992, father, Gerard Chase 2010; sister, Barbara and brother, John Chase.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Viles; sister, Rita Cunningham husband Stephen, of Liverpool, N.Y., brother, Bruce Chase wife Janet of Cape Elizabeth, sister, Loretta Maxwell husband John of Standish; and cousins; also, her best friends Susan Cash Snyder, Felicia Thompson who helped her in the last years of life.
