CAPE ELIZABETH – James Vanites, 98, of Cape Elizabeth, passed away on Nov. 20, 2025. James was born on Dec. 24, 1926, to parents Dennis and Georgia Vranitis, Greek immigrants who settled in Biddeford. Services for Jim will be held at Hope Memorial Chapel in Biddeford on Sunday Nov. 23, from 4-6 p.m., and a funeral will be held on Monday Nov. 24, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Saco, where he was a lifelong member, at 10:30 a.m. To read the full obituary, please visit http://www.hopememorial.com
