David E. Green

OXFORD – David E. Green, 67, of Oxford, passed away on June 12, 2026, after a two-year battle with cancer.

Born on Nov. 11, 1958, David lived a life centered on family, hard work, and the simple pleasures he loved most. He attended Portland Schools, and was known for his dedication throughout his career, working for over 30 years at Oakhurst Dairy and later at Big Rig Shop, and Kris Way Trucking.

David found great joy in fishing, golfing, and watching his grandchildren play sports. With a diagnosis of six-to-twelve months, he set a goal to attend his oldest grandson Alex’s graduation from Poland Regional High School on May 29. “You Made It”.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Patty Mains; his children, David Green Jr., his wife Lindsey, and grandchildren, John and Rita, Lisa Green, her partner Ben, and granddaughter Ava, who just turned 16 and he was able to be there for her birthday, Lori Herlan and her husband Chris. His stepson Leslie Mains Jr., his wife Jess, and grandchildren, Alex, Corbyn and Brody, stepson Jarek Mains, his wife Alley, and grandchildren Josie, Madi, and Lucas, the youngest blessing. Lindsey Campbell, Alex’s mother, who was like a daughter to him and last but not least, Bella Belle.

You are in my heart now. I love you, my husband and best friend, thank you for always being by my side.

A private ceremony will be held.
