Clement Moody

NEW SHARON – Clement Moody, born on May 2, 1939, in South Harpswell, Maine, to Wesley Moody and Thelma Chadborn, lived a life defined by hard work, kindness, and an unwavering love for his family.

Clement attended school in Jonesboro. From an early age, he worked alongside his father in the family clamming business, digging clams and learning the value of dedication and perseverance. It was during those years that he discovered his remarkable talent for fixing things that others couldn’t, a skill that became the foundation of his lifelong career.

A gifted mechanic, Clement spent his life solving problems with his hands and helping those around him. He also found great joy on the water, especially fishing for lobsters with his son, Scott. Some of his proudest moments came from working alongside Scott to help build Moody’s Seafood. He was incredibly proud of his son’s accomplishments and cherished being part of the family’s business.

Clement was known for his generous spirit and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He had an enormous heart, endless patience, and a strong work ethic. Above all else, he was devoted to his family, always putting their needs before his own. He touched the lives of so many with his gentle nature and genuine kindness. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Clement knew what a truly sweet and caring man he was.

In his free time, Clement loved fishing, spending time in his garage, enjoying anything chocolate, and doting on his beloved dogs. Most of all, he treasured every moment spent with his family, who were the center of his life.

He is survived by his wife of 50-plus years, Beatrice Moody; two sons, Scott and George Moody, four stepchildren; 11 grandkids; and 14 great-grandkids.

Clement’s legacy of love, generosity, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, and all whose lives were made better by his kindness.

Graveside service will be at West Harpswell Cemetery at 3 p.m., Aug. 2.
