ARUNDEL
Five injured in crash outside Eagles club; woman arrested
Five people were taken to the hospital Monday night after a two-vehicle crash outside the Eagles club on Route 1, and the driver of one of the vehicles was charged with driving drunk.
William King Jr., chief deputy for the York County Sheriff’s Office, said in a news release Monday night that Lisa Desmond, 49, of Kennebunk drove from the Eagles club parking lot in her 1992 Cadillac Deville into the path of a northbound 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan.
The Caravan, driven by Jeffrey Nason, 45, Kennebunk, hit Desmond’s car in the front driver’s side and pushed it into a snowbank on the shoulder of the southbound lane, King said.
Desmond was taken to Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford, as was one of her passengers, Kevin Perkins, 49, of Kennebunk. A second passenger in Desmond’s car, Michael Little, 42, Kennebunk, was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland. King said all three were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Nason was taken to Southern Maine Medical Center and later transferred to Maine Medical Center, King said. Nason’s 16-year-old son was also injured in the crash and taken to the hospital in Biddeford.
King said Desmond has a court date of March 12.

BANGOR
Police: Person found dead outside store likely dragged
Police say the person who was found dead in a Bangor supermarket parking lot over the weekend appears to have been struck by a vehicle elsewhere in the city and dragged.
Officers found the victim near the entrance to a Hannaford store at about 8 p.m. Saturday.
The person’s name has not been made public.
Police said Sunday that it appears the victim was struck on Vermont Avenue, about a half-mile away, became trapped under the vehicle and was dragged.
Detective David Bushey told WABI-TV the driver was unaware that someone was trapped under the car until they reached Hannaford.
The death remains under investigation, but no charges are expected.
