CAPE ELIZABETH — Ruth Anne Haley of Brentwood Road has withdrawn from the School Board election.
According to Town Clerk Debra Lane, Haley withdrew on Sept. 22 for personal reasons.
Lane said Haley’s name will not appear on the Nov. 3 ballot. “I was literally getting ready to send them when she withdrew,” Lane said. “It’s good for the voters the timing happened as it did.”
There are now six residents vying for three seats held by Chairwoman Patricia Brigham, Karen Burke and Peter Cotter. Cotter is the only board member seeking re-election.
The other candidates are John C. Christie III of Albion Road; Pond View Road resident Frederic K. Sturtevant; Mary K. Williams-Hewitt of Ocean House Road; Cranbrook Drive resident David C. Hillman and Richard B. Dunham of Ocean View Road.
