After a solid campaign, Freeport High School recently held its spring sports awards night.
The baseball team, which got in the win column this season for the first time since 2006, gave its J. Mickey Kovall award to Jon Klages. Kyle Moore was chosen for the Heart of the Falcon award. Spencer Egan received the Falcon Pride award. Ronnie Gillis was given the Booster’s Pride and Character award.
The junior varsity Athletic Excellence award went to Chris Libby. The JV Booster’s Pride and Character award was given to Connor Ritchie.
Turning to softball, Olivia Doane was named team most valuable player. Theresa Flynn won the Offensive MVP. Stephanie Pottle took home the Booster’s Pride and Character award.
JV softball Athletic Excellence awards went to Jenny Breau and Sonia Jones. Mikaela Gillis was given the Booster’s Pride and Character award.
Boys’ lacrosse gave its Coach’s awards to Alex Sturtevant and Alex Thompson. Greg Ordway won the Booster’s Pride and Character award.
Girls’ lacrosse gave its Most Improved Player award to Hannah Goodenow. Jessica Hench won the Rookie award. Emily Drummond was selected for the Booster’s Pride and Character award.
Outdoor track gave its Finish Line awards to Henry Loughlin and Kristen Poulin. Abigail Roney and Taylor Saucier took home Starting Block awards. Chris Anthony and Andrea Goodrich were the recipients of Booster’s Pride and Character awards.
In boys’ tennis, Ben Boutin and Sean McLellan won Coach’s awards. Sam Skold was given the Booster’s Pride and Character Award.
The girls’ tennis Coach’s awards went to Natalie Hench and Jaimee McCormack. Sarah Weirich won the Booster’s Pride and Character award.
Wesley Skold and Molly Susla were given Maine Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Academic and Athletic Excellence awards.
Klages and Poulin won United States Army Reserve National Scholar/Athlete awards.
Klages and Susla were chosen as Senior Athletes of the Year.
Middle Schoolers also praised
As always, middle schoolers had their moment of glory as well.

Jocelyn Davee and Connor Dietrich were given the Howard Galligan award as 8th grade Athletes of the Year.
