TOPSHAM — Douglas S. Reil, 38, died June 3 at his home.

He was born in Hartford, Conn., on Oct. 5, 1970, the son of Norman D. and Joan C. (Balestra) Reil.

After graduating from Lisbon High School in 1988, he owned and operated Reil Painting.

His hobbies included fishing, auto racing, and watching bald eagles.

He was predeceased by his father Norman in 2004 and his sister, Kelly Arsenault, in 2004.

Surviving are his mother, Joan of Ludlow, Vt.; his grandmother, Viola Balestra of Rutland, Vt.; a niece and nephew; and his long-time best friend, Scott Pomerleau.

There will be a private service in Vermont at a later date.

Arrangements are by Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick.
