The Standish Planning Board meeting that lasted until 1:50 a.m. was nothing but an insult to the residents of Standish.

These board members are such good pretenders. They act like they really are interested in what people say, and know, which is so far from the truth! Especially when after midnight, citizens were given only two minutes to speak! They really had their minds made up on how they were going to vote before the meeting even started! Sadly, they forget they are to follow the ordinances of the town verbatim, and if there are still questions unanswered then don’t pass the entire package that night or morning.

This Pit Stop 12-bay fueling station, convenience store, bulk fuel storage business is in Village Center, right in front of Hannaford. That is why the room was packed with concerned citizens. So what does the chairman Paul Mosley do, but entertain a motion to take things out of order – putting the most controversial item last, after a dozen other lengthy issues on the agenda. A ridiculous political ploy! A few citizens stayed to listen and make comments, not I, because Mr. Mosley angrily called the meeting to adjourn at 11 p.m. I left! Little did I know that it was reconvened and went until 1:50 a.m.

No final decision that impacts the town so drastically, should be made at this hour of the morning.
