This spring saw many local students celebrate their college graduations.
Daniel Rosen of Scarborough graduated from the Maine Maritime Academy with a degree in marine engineering operations.
Travis Lamontagne of Scarborough also graduated from the Maine Maritime Academy. Lamontagne graduated magna cum laude with a degree in international business and logistics. He also received the academy’s Student Citizenship Award and the Henry Brooks Award in International Business and Logistics.
Edward Williams of Cape Elizabeth graduated from the University of Rhode Island.
Mandi Rapisardi of Scarborough graduated from Lasell College in Newton, Mass. She graduated with a degree in fashion design and production.
Kate Elizabeth Ruth Russell of Scarborough graduated from Bates College with a degree in biological chemistry. A 2002 graduate of Scarborough High School, Russell is the daughter of Ben and Nancy Russell of Orchard Hill Road. At Bates, she was a dean’s list student and a member of the women’s swimming and diving team.
Penelope Amelia Taylor of Scarborough graduated from Bates College with a degree in anthropology. A 2002 graduate of Scarborough High School, Taylor is the daughter of John W. Taylor II and Marilyn Taylor of Payne Road.
Alex Smith of South Portland graduated from Bates College. Smith graduated magna cum laude with a degree in biology. A dean’s list student, Smith is a Dana Scholar, which is awarded in recognition of academics and scholarship. A 2002 graduate of South Portland High School, he is the son of Eric and Susan Smith.
