NEW FACES
• Todd Goodwin was named chief executive officer of Community Partners Inc. in Biddeford. Goodwin previously served as interim chief executive officer at Milestone Foundation, an addictions services and substance abuse treatment agency.
• The University of New England has appointed Barry Costa-Pierce, Ph.D., as its Henry L. & Grace Doherty Endowed Chair of Marine Sciences, director of the Marine Science Education and Research Center and director of the Center for Land-Sea Interactions. Costa-Pierce most recently served for 10 years as director of the Rhode Island Sea Grant College Program.
• Lee Martin joined Fluid Imaging Technologies Inc. as senior software engineer. Martin of Yarmouth had worked as a consultant there for more than a year. He previously worked at Idexx Laboratories in Westbrook, where he was also senior software engineer.
• Richard Summermatter, MD, joined St. Mary’s Women’s Health Associates in Lewiston. Dr. Summermatter was previously with Western Maine OB/GYN.
• Alix Caulfield joined Drummond Woodsum as a new member of the firm’s banking and commercial finance group. Before joining Drummond Woodsum, Caulfield practiced for over 20 years at another Portland law firm.
• Chris Barstow was appointed general manager of the Holiday Inn Bath. Barstow most recently worked as a rooms division manager for the Samoset Resort in Rockport. He has worked for the Inn by the Sea, Bar Harbor Regency and the former Holiday Inn Portland West. He also served for six years as state representative for Gorham in the Legislature.
• Ken Olson, executive director of KidsPeace in Maine, will also serve as clinical director for KidsPeace Foster Care and Community Programs nationally. Olson will provide clinical and public policy support and consultation to its programs in eight states and the District of Columbia.
PROMOTIONS
• At Hollywood Casino Hotel & Raceway, David Beaudoin, formerly director of hotel operations, was promoted to director of non-gaming operations. Steven Beaulieu, formerly the hotel sales and banquet manager, was promoted to manager of food and beverage operations.
Beaudoin joined Hollywood Casino in 2009. He has spent 30 years in the hospitality industry, most recently as general manager of the Red Jacket Resort, Spa and Waterpark in North Conway, NH. Beaulieu joined the casino in 2008. He previously worked for Starbucks Coffee, helping to open three stores in Bangor and Waterville.
• Sarah L. Belliveau was promoted to principal at BerryDunn. Belliveau joined BerryDunn in 1992, focusing her efforts on providing audit, accounting, tax and management advisory services to a variety of not-for-profit and health care organizations.
• Kelly Barden was promoted to communications production manager at The MEMIC Group. Barden of Portland has worked for the company for 14 years, starting her career as an intern through Southern Maine Community College’s Maine Career Advantage initiative.

• Sherry Morrison of Edward Jones in South Portland recently won the firm’s Edward Jones Sr. Founders Award for her exceptional achievement in building client relationships.
• Twenty Preti Flaherty attorneys were selected for the 2012 Chambers USA Guide to America’s Leading Business Lawyers, a directory of leading attorneys and law firms in the United States. • The Lewiston CareerCenter has earned the Lewiston and Auburn Economic Achievement Award. The award recognizes that the center provides “a critical service to both local employers and job seekers, diversifying, strengthening and growing our economy,” Lincoln Jeffers, assistant to the administrator of Lewiston, said in a press release.
• Meredith Kendall, an instructor at Central Maine Medical Center College of Nursing and Health Professions, has been chosen for the Saint Joseph’s College Alumni Association’s Alumni of the Year Award. Kendall of Lewiston lectures and teaches clinicals at the college.
• Haley Kelley, director of marketing at Naturally Potatoes, was selected for the Progressive Grocer’s 2012 Top Women in Grocery Rising Star Award. Kelley will receive her award at this year’s gala Nov. 8 in Chicago.
• Dan Lilley, a Portland attorney, was selected to be inducted into Super Lawyers, a national organization that evaluates attorneys for excellence in the practice of law. Lilley has been listed in every publication of Best Lawyers in America for the last 25 years.
• The Central Maine Medical Center Volunteer Services Department was recognized by the New England Association for Directors of Hospital Volunteer Services with its President’s Award for outstanding program development.
• Barbara MacPike, an infection preventionist at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, was named the 2012 Exemplary Infection Prevention & Control Professional. She was recognized for her hand hygiene campaign and for serving as the hand hygiene chair at the Maine Infection Prevention Coalition for the past two years.
• Patriot Subaru in Saco was named one of Automotive News’ “Best Dealerships to Work For” for 2012. Adam Arens, owner of Patriot Subaru, said in a press release, “This award says everything about the people who work here. The associates in all departments bring their best every day, and go to great lengths to help each other out.”
BOARD APPOINTMENTS
• Scarborough Land Trust recently named new officers on its board of directors:
Paul Austin, owner of Whole Home Resource, was elected president; Jack Anderson, retired securities lawyer, was elected vice president; Patrick O’Reilly, accountant at Macdonald Page & Co., was named treasurer; and Rick Shinay, attorney at Drummond Woodsum, was appointed clerk.
Other directors elected at the meeting are Mark Follansbee, toxicologist at SRC; Elizabeth Peoples, Esq.; Alexander Timpson, senior vice president of Wachovia Securities; and Jeremy Wintersteen, owner of Conservation Outcomes.
• The Maine Real Estate & Development Association board of directors unanimously elected the following officers for the 2012-2013 fiscal year:
Drew Sigfridson of CBRE | The Boulos Company, was named president; Anne Littlefield of Dead River Properties was elected vice president; Michael O’Reilly of Bangor Savings Bank was elected vice president; William Shanahan of Northern New England Housing Investment Fund was elected treasurer; James C. Otis of Otis | Atwell was elected assistant treasurer; and Dennis C. Keeler of Pierce Atwood, LLP, was elected secretary and registered agent.
Bev Uhlenhake of Epstein Commercial Real Estate in Bangor was elected to the board.
• Elizabeth McGlinn and Eric Smith were appointed to the board of governors of the Maine Society of CPAs. McGlinn serves as a senior treasury analyst at IDEXX Laboratories. Smith is a staff accountant at Edwards, Faust and Smith, CPAs.
• Maine Cancer Foundation announced the following new members of its board of directors: Jennifer Dumas, executive pharmaceutical sales specialist-oncology at AstraZeneca, who was named president; Dr. Chris Kuhn, a radiologist at Mercy Hospital; Dr. Kevin Mills, associate professor at The Jackson Laboratory; Andy Patstone, vice president of Strategic Initiatives at MaineHealth; and David Libby, president and chief executive officer at Town & Country Federal Credit Union.
