Until Aug. 16: The Summer Food Service Program in Gray-New Gloucester, sponsored by the MSAD 15 Food Services Department and supported by the Preble Street Maine Hunger Initiative in partnership with the Liberty Family Foundation, will be offering a free lunch to all kids and teens under the age of 18. Until Aug. 4: Schoolhouse Arts Center will present “The Music Man” from July 18-Aug. 4. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m.. Saturday, Aug. 3: Amateur Elvis impersonator Jason Boothby will be performing at the gazebo in Steep Falls Park (corner of routes 11 and 113 in Standish) starting at 7 p.m. Hot dogs, popcorn, soda and other food will be on sale prior to and during the performance. Aug. 3: From 6:30-8:30 p.m., the Naples Public Library will be holding a Paddle Art Auction at the Naples Country Club. Twenty-four paintings on ash canoe paddles and a landscape quilt will be available for bidding. Contributors include well-known local artists such as Andrea Dacko, Dick Anzelc, Linda Stearns, Regina Tremblay, Dan Edwards and Jeff Toole, to name a few. Monday, Aug. 5: A National Alliance on Mental Illness support group meets at the Raymond Public Safety Building on Route 302 from 7-8:30 p.m. Classrooms are upstairs. No family or person living with mental illness in Maine needs to be alone. NAMI Maine families and individuals living with a mental illness are there to help. Tuesday, Aug. 6: Windham’s Monthly Grief Support meeting sponsored by VNA Home Health & Hospice will be discussing “Coping with the loss of a spouse” from 6-7:30 p.m. at the North Windham Union Church, 723 Roosevelt Trail (Route 302). The group is open to anyone grieving the death of a loved one. Thursday, Aug. 8: At 6:30 p.m., Loon Echo Land Trust is hosting a 4-mile run or walk to benefit the ongoing stewardship of Hacker’s Hill. This scenic run will start at the Cry of the Loon gift shops on Route 302, continue up Quaker Ridge Road and finish atop Hacker’s Hill. Registration starts at 5:30 p.m. at the finish line on Hacker’s Hill and the race starts at 6:30. Entry fee is $20/adults and $15 under 18. Friday, Aug. 9: Gorham Savings Bank’s Standish location will be holding its annual barbeque from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., which will be catered by The Blue Pig. The event is held at the branch located in the Colonial Marketplace on Route 25 in Standish and it is free to the community.
