‘Berry’ good season

On Sunday, Aug. 31, Allen Crabtree’s blueberry patch hit a major milestone, as 6,000 pounds of blueberries were picked during the 2008 season. Naples residents David and Joan Moore and their grandchildren Ethan and Lexi picked the berries that put Crabtree’s patch over the milestone. They were the last pickers of the day, and the lucky group was rewarded by winning the berries they picked, as well as some Mardi Gras beads. Crabtree’s will continue to be open for business through September, until the first hard frost.
