WINDHAM- At Windham High School’s first Consider Canada College Fair held Monday, about 70 students and parents heard from 14 admissions officers representing a variety of Canadian universities.
Janet Caner, the high school’s coordinator of student services, said that in Canada, the average tuition, room and board package for international students costs around $25,000 annually, although students with dual Canadian and American citizenship can attend for $3,000 to $5,000 a year.
“Canadian schools have such quality programs for a fraction of the price of
U.S. colleges,” Caner said, attributing the comparatively lower cost to government subsidies and investment.
“In this day and age, you sometimes have to look at the bottom line.”
