Arrested while waiting

On June 11 at midnight, William Lavine, 25, of Swampscott, Mass., was arrested while waiting for a ride at the police station. After a fight broke out earlier at the Foxcroft apartments, he was taken to the police station to wait for his ride. Witnesses say there were about 20 people, some with broken bottles, involved in the fight. By the time police arrived, most of the fighters had left. Once at the station, Lavine continued to be belligerent and was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Mystery shots

On June 11 at about 2 a.m., a resident at 162 Two Rod Road reported hearing five gunshots close to his home. Police did not find anyone or any firearms.

‘Small’ moose on the loose

On June 11 at about 11 a.m., a “small” calf moose was running between the high school and Sawyer Road. The moose was estimated to weigh about 425 pounds and soon ran off.

Houseguest

On June 12 at about 8 p.m., a resident on 4 Storer Road called police about an injured wild bird in the house. The bird was removed.

Cody Bennett, 18, of Kennedy Drive, Scarborough, was arrested on Blue Point Road on a charge of criminal trespass.

Manuel R. Louretro, 30, of Forest Avenue, South Portland, was arrested on a warrant charge of violation of bail.

Letitia B. Pritchard, 26, of Portland Avenue, Old Orchard Beach, was arrested on Ross Road on a charge of operating under the influence – one prior.
