A new traffic light on Route 77 at the entrance to Cape Elizabeth High School was expected to be operational this week.

Central Maine Power installed electricity last week. “The lights are blinking yellow, so we know there’s power,” said Public Works Director Bob Malley. “Now we’re just waiting to program it so the lights will be completely functional.”

The new intersection provides a left turn lane for traffic heading north on Route 77. “This intersection has been a long time coming,” Town Manager Mike McGovern said. “The plan has been in the making for 10 years.”
