The Town Office, at Mallett Hall, is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday 8:30 a.m.-6:30 and closed Friday.

The Planning Board will meet Wednesday, March 18, at 7 p.m., in Mallett Hall. The board has scheduled an ordinance review workshop for Tuesday, March 24, at 8 a.m., at Mallett Hall

Community club supper on Saturday

On Saturday, March 14, at 5:30 p.m., the North Pownal Community Club will host its monthly potluck supper at the Community Club hall at 857 Lawrence Road in North Pownal. Everyone is welcome. Beans, spaghetti to be served

The North Pownal United Methodist Church, 851 Lawrence Road, Pownal, will hold a public baked bean and spaghetti supper on Saturday, March 28, from 4:30-6 p.m. On the menu are three kinds of beans, spaghetti with meat sauce, potato salad, cole slaw, biscuits and brown bread, pickled beets and assorted homemade pies. Tickets are adults $8, children 4-12 years $3, and free for kids under 3. The church is handicapped assessable. For more information, call Kim at 865-3517.

Pi celebration at Fuego Diablo

Fuego Diablo, 52 Loring Lane, has rescheduled its next music night to March 14, in recognition of International Pi Day. Pi is a mathematical symbol, and March 14, 2015, can be written out 3.14.15, the first five digits of the value of pi. The music night’s menu will all be based on pies – meat pies, veggies pies, American pies, etc. Those who have a deft hand at making pies, especially for dessert pies, are welcome to contribute one.

Performers of all ages and abilities are invited to take the stage at this intimate acoustic venue. A sign-up sheet is available and spontaneous collaborations are encouraged. Performers requiring gear should bring their own. Food is served from 5:30-6:30 p.m., and music begins at 6:30. For more information, see Fuego Diablo’s page on Facebook.

Help out class of 2015

As part of Project Graduation fundraising, Freeport High School class of 2015 is holding a fundraising bottle and beverage can drive at Bow Street Market during March. Bottles and cans can be brought directly to the store or a pickup can be arranged. Dunkin’ Donuts Community Mugs are also available. Buy a mug for $20 and bring it into any neighborhood Dunkin’ Donuts in Maine or Coos and Carroll counties in New Hampshire and receive free hot or iced coffee every Sunday in 2015. Food pantry on Wednesdays

The North Pownal United Methodist Church food Pantry on 851 Lawrence Road is now open every Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The pantry never knows from week to week what it will be getting. If any farmers or others would like to donate to the pantry, contact the Rev. Ray St. Pierre, 837-0682, or Deb Larrabee, 240-1637. The pantry helps those in need and welcomes everyone.

Men’s breakfast at church

The First Parish Church of Pownal hosts a men’s breakfast the first Saturday of each month at 7:30 a.m., open to any men who want to come. The Rev. John Wentworth leads the discussions.

North Pownal United Methodist Church worship service is Sunday at 9 a.m. Sunday School for children and adults is at 10:30 am. All are welcome. The Rev. Raymond St. Pierre is pastor.
