Durham tax rate at 4.5 percent

Although the selectmen of the town of Durham take no position on the withdrawal petition that is currently being circulated, we do believe that it is important that people have accurate information as they consider this issue. With that in mind we would like to correct the information that was put forward in the Tri-Town Weekly issue dated Sept. 16, suggesting a 12 percent property tax increase. The property tax increase for the 2015 tax year for the town of Durham was 4.5 percent as voted on by the selectmen at the June 16. 2015 meeting. A video of the meeting is available on our web site.
