Rep. Darlene Curley, R-Scarborough, will appear on this week’s “State of the State” Show to address the affect of rising heating costs on Maine households.
Other guests will include Dale McCormick, director of the Maine State Housing Authority, and Pat Kosma, deputy director of the Kennebec Valley Community Action Program.
The guests discuss the dramatic increase in applications, which are being received by community action agencies that administer the federally-funded Low Income Heating Assistance Program. McCormick outlines the proposal for a state appropriation of $5 million which the Governor has proposed, and Curley points out the bipartisan leadership support for the proposal. Curley also serves on the board of the People’s Regional Opportunity Program, which administers the LIHEAP program in Cumberland County.
The show will air on Channel 9 on the Adelphia cable TV network Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 10 and 11, at 11:30 a.m.
