In observance of Earth Day, the Fifth Annual Spring Cleaning of Scarborough Marsh and beaches will be held Saturday, April 25.

This annual event is a collaboration between a number of organizations, including the Friends of Scarborough Marsh, Scarborough Land Conservation Trust, Higgins Beach Association and many others.

If your organization would like to provide volunteers, please contact Linda Woodard at 781-2330, ext. 213 or at [email protected].

Volunteers are asked to bring work gloves and dress appropriately for changes in the weather. Bags, plastic gloves and trash removal will be provided by the town of Scarborough.

The cleanup sites and contacts are as follows:

• Pine Point Beach, Lynne and Ed Cleary, 883-6887 or [email protected]. Participants should park and meet at the Pine Point municipal parking lot.

• Scarborough Marsh Audubon Center and vicinity,

[email protected]. Park and meet at Anjon’s. For safety reasons, adults only at this site.

• Eastern Trail, Bruce Wakefield, 415-1452. Park and meet at town pumping station, a half mile off Black Point Road.
