The newest of Windham’s public nature areas, Chaffin Pond, is about to open to the public. For many years, this area was never accessible to the public. These hour-long hikes, sponsored by Portland Water District and Windham Parks and Recreation, will take visitors around the pond.

The guided hikes start at 9 a.m. on Wednesdays, July 13, July 27, August 14 and August 28.

Chaffin Pond is located just off Route 302 in North Windham. Take the road on the right, just before the Sherwin Williams paint store and the parking area is located right at the end of the road. For more information call 892-1905 or email [email protected].
