CAPE ELIZABETH – Cape Elizabeth High School presents its 2013 One-Act Festival production of “Dead Man Walking,” which opens on Wednesday, March 6, at 7 p.m., in the Cape Elizabeth High School auditorium, 345 Ocean House Road. Tickets are $5.
This is a serious play with mature themes that pits the forces of rehabilitation against retribution in our criminal justice system. Cape Elizabeth High School cast is led by seniors Elizabeth Coughlin, as Sister Helen Prejean, and Griffin Carpenter. as Matthew Poncelet, a death row inmate.
Eighty Maine high schools, including Scarborough, South Portland, and Cape Elizabeth, are producing shows for eight regional festivals. Cape Elizabeth’s entry opens with local performances at 7 p.m. at the high school on Wednesday, March 6, and Thursday, March 7, then travels to Bonny Eagle High School, where shows ranging from Greek comedy to modern farce will be offered. Performances continue on Tuesday, March 19 and close Wednesday, March 20.
