Manchester Reunion
Joseph K. Manchester, of Windham, is the Civil War ancestral relative of many area Manchesters. Aug. 3 will mark the 150th anniversary of his death from wounds received at Fort Wagner. A gathering of Manchester family members is in the planning stages, to be held on Aug. 3 at the Little Meetinghouse in North Windham. The event will include a presentation about Joseph based on his letters found in the North Windham farmhouse where he lived, luncheon and activities for all. David and Carol Manchester, who are planning the event, are seeking who would like more information about the Aug. 3 reunion. Guests will be urged to bring family information and photos. All who have a genealogical connection with Joseph, extending back to Stephen Manchester (1717-1807) and who would be interested in information about this family gathering, are urged to email David or Carol Manchester at [email protected] or mail a note to PO Box 218, Windham, ME 04062. To help in planning, they would appreciate being contacted as soon as possible.
