Jane Eberle announced plans last week to seek a second term in the Maine House of Representatives.

Eberle, a Democrat, represents District 123, which covers South Portland and Cape Elizabeth.

“I am proud of the important legislation we’ve passed regarding protection of civil rights, a start to tax reform, and increased funding for our schools,” she said. “Serving on the Natural Resources committee has been especially rewarding as Maine continues to lead the nation in reducing mercury in our environment, proper disposal of electronic waste, reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, and cleaning up our rivers.”

Eberle was an at-home mom and community volunteer for 20 years while her children were attending South Portland schools. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of New Hampshire and currently is director of business partnerships for the South Portland School Department.

She was recently appointed as a navigator for the Gulf of Maine Research Institute and serves on the board of the South Portland/Cape Elizabeth Community Chamber. She is a member of the Southern Maine Community College Service Learning Advisory Board, Greater Portland Mentoring Partnership, and South Portland’s Waterfront Market Association.

Jane Eberle is seeking re-election to the Maine House of Representatives.
