On Friday, Dec. 2, Mill Creek Park in South Portland came alive with

lights, music, horse-drawn carriages, Santa, and people.

The annual holiday tree lighting drew big crowds, as always, and the evening was enjoyed by all. As a collaboration between the city, schools, local businesses, civic groups, and many individuals, it is a shining example of working together for a spectacular outcome.

The oragnizers would like to thank the following businesses and organizations for their generous contributions: the city of South Portland, South Portland School Department, South Portland high and middle schools’ chorus students and directors, Smaha’s Legion Square Market, Waterfront Graphics and Printing, Key Bank, Shopper’s Hardware Mill Creek, Hannaford, Shaw’s, Blake Hall Allen Insurance, South Portland/Cape Elizabeth Rotary, Waterfront Market Association, South Portland/Cape Elizabeth Community Chamber and Jennifer Rooks at WCSH TV 6.
