New restaurant coming to Oak Hill
The Portland restaurant El Rayo Taqueria is opening a new location in Scarborough. The Mexican restaurant first opened on York Street in Portland in 2009 and will be bringing its famous, authentic menu, featuring locally sourced foods and its popular fish tacos to the Oak Hill area of Scarborough.
Town Planner Dan Bacon said the restaurant, which is going in at the former Cumberland Farms, at 245 U.S. Route 1, will have seating for 84 patrons. The Town Council is expected to approve applications for new liquor and food handling licenses at its meeting on Wednesday, May 7.
Bacon said the owners are hoping to open later this month.
