I am writing this letter in support of Ann Peoples for state representative in House District 125. I have known Ann, her husband Patrick and their children for more than 10 years, and I have seen her dedication to Westbrook first hand.
As a founding director of Mission Possible, she nurtured that program from a visionary startup to a stable and successful resource for Westbrook teens. Ann’s participation in writing the comprehensive plan help set in place the vision and the principles that have helped our city transition from a mill-based manufacturing town to a city that, during this past month, was recognized as one of Southern Maine’s most desirable places to live and work by Down East magazine.
As a city councilor and planning board member, Ann has given countless hours of energy and service in making that transition possible. Her experiences have given her a balanced and sensible approach to deal with the complex issues like health care, education, fair taxation and economic development, which Maine and Westbrook must tackle in the next few years. I want her to be our voice in Augusta.
