Larry Bliss deserves our support for state Senate in Maine’s 7th District. Democratic voters in South Portland, Cape Elizabeth and part of Scarborough should know that Larry has an excellent record fighting for Maine’s working people and their families.

In the Maine House of Representatives, Larry successfully fought for legislation to protect children from toxic chemicals. He also co-sponsored legislation to provide adequate medical care for children, and co-sponsored legislation to control health care costs. At the national level, he is a supporter of single-payer, universal health-care coverage.

Larry Bliss has also been a fighter for Maine’s environment – key to the excellent quality of life that we enjoy here. He co-sponsored important legislation to protect and improve lake water quality in our state. Larry also backed legislation to minimize carbon emissions from coal plants and introduced legislation to ensure protection of spent nuclear fuel storage.

Larry Bliss supports property tax relief that will benefit Maine’s working people, their families and their communities. He has already helped bring our communities millions of dollars in state aid above the governor’s original budget plans.

I may not agree with Larry Bliss on every issue, but I know that he is a man of tremendous integrity with a commitment to serving the people in our communities. I urge my fellow Democrats to support Larry Bliss on Tuesday, June 10.
