At a lemonade stand set up over the summer at Town and Country Credit Union in Scarborough, Morgan Chaput, 9, raised more than $100 which he used to buy a portable putting green at a discount from the local Golf & Ski Warehouse for use by residents of the Maine Veterans’ Home. According to Jeff Roosevelt, director of public relations for the vets’ home, Chaput’s efforts had an impact beyond the recently delivered green. “A retired couple that visited Morgan’s stand was so inspired they began volunteering at the home,” he said.
