Fire and Rescue

Between Feb. 19 and Feb. 25, the Cape Elizabeth Rescue squad transported six patients to Maine Medical Center and five to Mercy Hospital.

On Feb. 19, at around 10:30 p.m., the fire department responded to a chimney fire on Fowler Road.

On Feb. 20, at around 10 p.m., the fire department responded to an automobile fire on Ocean House Road.

On Feb. 24, at around 4:30 p.m., the fire department responded to a smoke alarm on Scott Dyer Road.

Sunken snowmobile

On Feb. 16, at around 3 p.m., police and the fire department’s WETeam responded to Crescent Beach State Park after receiving a report that a snowmobiler had driven into the water. Witnesses told police the operator of the snowmobile was assisted out of the water and left with another subject on a snowmobile. The WETeam was unable to locate and recover the snowmobile that had sunk.

Spending spree

On Feb. 21, at around 12:30 p.m, a part-time resident of the Spurwink Avenue area reported more than $600 of unauthorized charges on his bank card made in Mexico.
