Eighth-grade Spanish students from Cape Elizabeth Middle School organized a fiesta for pre-schoolers from On Our Planet day school in celebration of Cinco de Mayo.

The event was held on Thursday at the Thomas Memorial Library. The older students entertained the children with stories read in Spanish and English and games that helped them learn the foreign language.

At the end of the fiesta, the eighth-graders tied a pinata to a tree outside the library, and the pre-schoolers took swings with a stick until they got at the candy inside.
