Cynthia DiBiase is the new Seniors and Youth Program coordinator for Scarborough’s Community Services Department. Her first day on the job was Monday.

For the last five years, DiBiase has worked at the Southern Maine Agency on Aging, where she most recently served as a care transitions specialist.

In that role she oversaw the planning and implementation of transition-care plans for patients and their caregivers returning to the community from a health-care facility.

While at the agency on aging, DiBiase also assisted in the development of a Community Health Worker program, acted as the point person for the Community Links program, and led the Southern Maine Coats for Seniors program, which collects jackets for seniors in need.

DiBiase has bachelor’s degrees in psychology and community health education, along with a minor in child adolescent health education, from the University of Maine at Farmington.

Her attributes and experience will make her a great asset to the town, the Community Services Department and (our) seniors,” said Bruce Gullifer, director of Community Services.
