The popular frozen yogurt shop, sweetFrog, is set to reopen on Gallery Boulevard in Scarborough.

New owner Vinal Doody is excited to offer “a family-friendly environment and the ability to give back to the community through fund raising events for local sports teams, churches and other not-for profits.”

The Scarborough shop is the fourth in Maine for sweetFrog, which was recently named the best premium frozen yogurt chain in the United States by The Daily Meal.

“Our goal is to be a strong community partner in Scarborough and the Greater Portland community,” Doody said. “And whether it’s a birthday, a fundraiser,or a special night out, we want sweetFrog to be the place our friends choose to gather and enjoy a sweet treat.”

A grand opening celebration was held this past weekend with various specials and contests, but now through through Memorial Day, sweetFrog will also offer medical professionals, schools, fire and rescue, local businesses and churches with 50 percent off purchases on designated days.

See www.sweetfrog.com for more information about sweetFrog’s premium, all natural, self-serve frozen yogurt, the company’s mission and its founders.
