A new, updated and mobile-friendly website has launched for Portland Head Light and Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth – www.portlandheadlight.com.

The new features include an interactive slide show of photographs, detailed information about attractions at the park and the ability to reserve space for a wedding or other event.

“There was a need to modernize the (lighthouse) website, so with that thought in mind, it was decided to combine it and Fort Williams Park into one new site,” said Jeanne Gross, director of the Museum at Portland Head Light.

Gross particularly likes the modern and intuitive design of the new website.

“We asked photographers to donate the use of their photos and they provided great pictures,” she said.

Historical background on Fort Williams was provided by Ken Thompson.

The new site was designed by Slickfish Studios in Portland, which worked on the project for several months, including incorporating new photographs and a new logo that reflects the website’s dual nature.

“We designed the logo first, which took about a month, and then spent a considerable amount of time researching photography,” said Gordon Holman, owner of Slickfish.
