Alice Fellows of Durham signs an Oct. 19 edition of the Tri-Town Weekly for someone at the Portland International Jetport, on Oct. 20. The newspaper featured an article the Fellows’ Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., which she took that day from the airport. Fellows, who will be 99 on Monday, Nov. 14, served in the Marine Corps Women’s Reserve from 1943-46 when there were no women in the regular Marine Corps.
