A memorial service for Collette Boure is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m. at Hobbs Funeral Home in South Portland, with a reception to follow.
Boure, 17, of Standish, died in Texarkana, Texas, on Nov. 2 from injuries sustained in a car crash.
She had been reported missing roughly two weeks prior, after police say she ran away with her boyfriend, Alexander Meyers, 17, of Portland.
Stacy Lary, Boure’s paternal grandmother, said Tuesday the reception and service will be a time for family and friends to share their memories and love for Boure. Hobbs Funeral Home is located at 230 Cottage Road. The reception starts at 3 p.m., at Moose Lodge, 19 Spring St. in Scarborough.
The crash occurred in Hugo, Oklahoma, around 11:45 p.m. on Oct. 30, following a police chase. The car, driven by Meyers, went left of center to pass a police vehicle, ran off the road to the left, struck a utility pole and overturned, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Boure was flown to St. Michael’s Hospital in Texarkana, where she later died. Meyers, who was driving, was taken into custody following the crash and faces a possible second-degree murder charge.
Last week, friends and family of Boure remembered her as compassionate, bright and humorous.
“She was just a wonderful, wonderful kid,” Lary said. “She made me laugh, and she filled my heart.”
