One-way Chute Road
Chute Road will be one-way from River Road to the intersection of Webb and Montgomery roads between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Maple Sugar Sunday, March 26.
Mother/Son Sports Night
Windham Parks and Recreation has tickets for the 4th annual Mother/Son Sports Night at the Windham Middle School from 7-8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 31. Moms, grandmothers, aunts, sisters or special others are invited to bring their sons in 5th grade and under. Tickets are $25 per couple, and $10 per additional son. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Tickets are available online at www.windhammaine.us or at the Windham Parks & Recreation office. Call 892-1905 for more information.
Cancer support group
The Windham Cancer Support Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 27, at Windham Public Library. If you or someone you know has been affected by cancer, you’re invited to attend this informal, confidential group.
American Legion News
The Field-Allen Post 148 will meets on Wednesday, April 5, at the Windham Veterans Center. Election of Post Officers for 2017-18 will be held. Social time will begin at 5 p.m., followed at 5:30 p.m. by a business meeting.
The veterans service officer will not hold office hours in April.
A reminder that all veterans are welcome to the Vets Coffee Hour from 9-11 a.m. every Wednesday. The Coffee Hour is celebrating its first anniversary. If you’re a local veteran, stop by and visit.
The Legion Post is collecting non-perishable food to restock the Portland Vet Center Food Pantry. Drop-offs are most welcome on Wednesdays from 9 to 11 a.m.
Have a flag in need of retirement? The American Legion Field-Allen Post is available to collect flags on Wednesdays from 9 to 11 a.m. at the WVC. Collected flags will be properly retired.
The Windham Veterans Association has a limited quantity of granite pavers to commemorate veterans, available until mid-April. There is space for 26 pavers in the center’s Memorial Garden. These will be dedicated during the annual Memorial Day activities this year. Each paver costs $50. For more information, contact Mel Greenier at 892-7449.
Grief support
VNA Home Health Hospice is offering an open grief support meeting on Tuesday, April 11, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the North Windham Union Church. For more information, call Linda Hopkins at 400-8714. This is a free community outreach service sponsored by the Church’s Mission Committee.

Chamber Singers concert
The Windham Chamber Singers will showcase their spring tour program on Saturday, April 1, at 7 p.m. at the North Windham Union Church. The community proceeds from this concert will help the Windham Raymond Backpack Program to provide food to 150 students in three elementary schools each weekend of the school year, giving balanced meals for the food insecure.
This concert is the 41st in the Music with a Mission series sponsored by the North Windham Union Church. Tickets will be sold at the door for $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for students/children.
