Presumpscot Regional Land Trust’s annual full moon snowshoe will be held Jan. 27 at Randall Orchards.

The Presumpscot Regional Land Trust is hosting its annual full moon snowshoe at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Randall Orchards.

The orchard is located in both Gorham and Standish.

“We will meet at the farm at sunset and head out to explore the nearly 500 acres of conserved orchard and forest while snowshoeing in the moonlight,” said Rachelle Curran Apse, land trust executive director.

“After the walk, we will be serving hot cider from apples grown and pressed on-site at the orchard.”

Apse said the snowshoe will be about 1 mile and the program will last two hours. The event is free and an RSVP is required by visiting www.prlt.org.

Free throw championship

The Knights of Columbus is sponsoring its annual basketball free-throw competition at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Shaw Gym, 75 South St.

Boys and girls ages 9 to 14 are eligible and proof of age is required at sign up. The winner in each age group receives a prize and winners advance to a district contest.
