Nominations coming due

Nomination papers for the municipal election in June are due in the office of  Town Clerk John Myers by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 13, in the Town Hall, 185 Portland Road.

Secret ballot voting is set for Tuesday, June 12, and the annual town meeting will be on Saturday, June 16. For more information, call Myers at 929-6171.

Cemetery association to meet

The South Buxton Cemetery Association (Tory Hill) will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17, at the Buxton Town Hall, 185 Portland Road.

John Myers, association secretary, announced that all lot owners, representatives and interested parties are “warmly welcome and encouraged to attend.”

Members in attendance will elect officers and directors in addition to selecting an auditor.

The board of directors will meet at 6 p.m., preceding the annual meeting.

Free 5K training clinic

Leavitt’s Mill Free Health Center is hosting free 5K training 11-11:45 a.m. on Thursdays and 9-9:45 a.m. on Saturdays through April 28 on the tennis courts across from Timberline Country Store, 222 Narragansett Trail, Buxton.

The health center is organizing its third annual Spring Fun Run/Walk 5K and health fair fundraiser on Saturday, May 5. The health center is located at 63 Main St., Buxton. For more information or to register for the 5K or the training sessions, call 929-6455.
