PORTLAND – Sarah Kurland completed a hat trick at 2:08 of overtime Saturday to lift Greely to a 5-4 victory against Portland-Deering in a schoolgirl hockey game at the Portland Ice Arena.
The Rangers (13-5) rallied from a 4-1 deficit in the third period, getting goals from Mary Morrison, Kurland and Shannon Love.
Raechel Allen had two goals and an assist for Portland/Deering (9-9). Kylie Dalbec and Drew Barry also scored.
YORK 8, GORHAM/BONNY EAGLE 1: Rachel Yorke scored two goals as York (14-4) scored seven unanswered goals to put away Gorham/Bonny Eagle (1-15) at Biddeford.
The Wildcats took the lead at 10:07 of the first period on an unassisted, short-handed goal from Olivia Leroux. Sammy Grant scored 1:09 later to tie it. The Wildcats took over in the final two periods with six players accounting for seven goals.
YARMOUTH/FREEPORT 3, CHEVERUS 0: Ariel Potter scored twice as Yarmouth/Freeport (7-11) shut out Cheverus (7-11) at Portland.
BASKETBALL
MCAULEY 57, CHEVERUS 40: Allie Clement scored eight points as the Lions (16-0) used a 22-8 run in the second period to open a 36-21 lead against visiting Cheverus (10-6) at Portland.
Clement finished with 14 points. Olivia Smith led McAuley with 15; Alexa Coulombe added 10. Brooke Flaherty led the Stags with 14 points.
CENTRAL 69, SUMNER 30: Max McHugh scored 19 points to lead Central (13-2) over Sumner (5-10) at East Sullivan.
SHEAD 54, CALVARY CHAPEL 22: Kristina Jamieson and Randi DeWitt each scored 12 points as the Tigers (11-5) beat the Sabers (2-11) at Eastport.
WISDOM 59, EAST GRAND 27: The Pioneers (3-13) opened a 35-12 halftime lead on their way to a win over the Vikings (3-15) at St. Agatha. Tyra Michaud led Wisdom with 17 points.
