SHAPLEIGH – A 24-year-old Springvale man was seriously hurt today when the ATV he was riding tipped over on Square Pond in Shapleigh, according to the Maine State Warden Sevice.

Gregory Horr, 24, was taken to Maine Medical Center and treated for head injuries. He was listed in critical condition tonight. The accident occurred at 12:30 p.m.

A crack had opened up in the ice during the day, and Horr’s ATV fell into the crack, causing the vehicle to flip over, Warden Seth Powers said.
