PORTLAND — The city’s Public Health Division’s Minority Health Program was recently awarded $20,000 from the Maine Health Access Foundation to help increase residents’ participation in the MaineCare and Marketplace Healthcare Programs.
According to the city, the funding will help Community Health Outreach Workers connect with low-income and underserved French, Portugese, Spanish, Arabic and English-speaking community members.
The grant award covers a project implementation starting Sept. 1, 2019, through Dec. 31, 2020.
