From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “A brigade of the U.S. 4th Infantry Division which won fame in two world wars, landed in South Viet Nam today and was immediately airlifted to the central highlands, one of this country’s major battlegrounds. The arrival raised U.S. troop strength in Viet Nam to about 290,000 men.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “The summer playground conducted every afternoon in the week excepting Saturday and Sunday at Clifford park, is proving every bit as popular this season as last, in fact, more so as the attendance has been quite as large as last summer. This is a very good record as the unusually heavy blueberry crop this season temps many children to the woods who would otherwise be at the playground.”
